LiesAll that I can bring myself to think of, if I have to, is that window. He always kept his windows closed, even in the daytime. Even in the mornings when sunlight stuttered over bloody clouds and summer grass crushed by bare feet. I couldn't sleep and neither could he but we pretended we could without ever saying a word.
